Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

Search Engine Marketing, or SEM, in short, is a term used to describe a process of marketing a website on the Internet with search engines involved.

The main SEM goal is to improve your website visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs) to drive more target traffic to your website.

To achieve SEM goal the three key methods are used. First, search engine optimization (SEO), that is increasing your webpage rank in natural listings. Second, pay per click advertising, that is purchasing paid listings. Third, paid inclusion, that is paying for having your web pages included in a search index.
